The Youth Center’s Scholarship Application

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE APPLICATION FOR YOUTH CENTER PROGRAMS

The Youth Center is a private, non-profit agency serving children and their families since 1952.

WHO MAY APPLY

This form can be completed by anyone wishing to participate in a Youth Center program but who are unable to afford the full program costs.

APPLICANTS MUST RESIDE WITHIN THE SERVICE AREA OF THE YOUTH CENTER. The service area of the Youth Center is commonly defined as the boundaries of the Los Alamitos Unified School District (LAUSD) which includes Los Alamitos, Rossmoor and Seal Beach. Those families living outside the service area but who have children attending a LAUSD school (including private schools) are also eligible to apply. Scholarship assistance is limited to 3 years per family.

WHEN TO APPLY

Applications are open year-round. It normally takes 2 weeks to process your scholarship application. Select every program you want to apply for in your scholarship application. Families who apply for financial assistance over consecutive years must re-apply each year. Every family will be funded for the maximum of 3 years. If you are new to our programs, you must submit a scholarship application prior to registering for the program.

DETERMINATION OF ASSISTANCE

Financial assistance is granted based on three factors:

1. Family Gross Income

2. Special Family Circumstances (excessive medical bills, support payments, etc.)

3. Availability of Financial Assistance Funds in any given Youth Center program

Financial Assistance Applications are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis. Families granted Financial Assistance are encouraged to help us build program funds by volunteering in various Youth Center fundraising activities.
